Meeting Invite Notifications Delayed/Slow

My Macbook Air (11" running Monterey 12.2.1 (but the problem also/first occurred under Catalina 10.15.7)) will notify me of invitations that are emailed to me but there is a very long delay between when such emails arrive and the calendar-oriented notification displays — up to 10 minutes or so when it should be more immediate upon receipt of mail with meeting invites. This has led me to have multiple entries in my calendar for the same event/meeting. If there is a way to fix this so that the delay isn't so long, I'd like to know. Thanks in advance.

To be clear, I am not talking about the notification of receiving new mail.

Hello and welcome.

• I assume you are using the Mail and Calendar applications on the Mac?
• How many email accounts are setup?
• Does it happen with all email accounts, just one, etc.?

I actually disable all Notifications on my Macs, as I find it distracting, so I don't have any suggestions of where to start. Maybe another member will chime in with some ideas.
