Maverick Update

Hi there,

I have just upgraded the OS Xmavericks on my mac and it has deleted all my applications, pictures etc in finder. For example I can access microsoft word if I am sent an attachment in an email but cannot save a version to the laptop and it shows up in the dock as blank (shown in attachment). Does anyone know how I can get everything back?

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Icons in the Dock are only alias'.

Go to your Applications folder and drag any app you like down onto the Dock to keep the alias there.

If you look along the Dock towards the right you'll notice a line or separator. If you're trying to drag something onto the Dock for quick access, like a folder, pdf or url link, they go to the right of that separator line. All apps go to the left of it.
