Hello and welcome.

Can you explain the issue a bit further? It sounds like you are trying to change an email account name?

You cannot change an email address. If you no longer have access to the email account, you can make sure you backup the email if you want to retain it, then delete the email account in  > System Preferences... > Internet Accounts. It will then be removed from the Mail application.

Thank you for your reply

When I open the mail program to write an email there is in the reply line an email address which is not mine and I can't change it, what I wanted to know is there anyway that I can remove it and put my own email address in.

Thank you

Hi,

Is it a signature in the body of the email, or an old email address in the Reply To: or From: fields?

Perhaps a screenshot of it - you can blur the email address of course.
