After a problem with Time Machine, I copied all the contents of the Mail folder from my backup drive to my computer. Although the mailboxes I had created showed in the mailbox list On My Mac, the mbox in each folder is empty. If I look in the mbox on my hard drive, the messages are there but they are not showing up in the Mail app. How can I get them to show in the appropriate mailbox?

Hello and welcome.

It is good that you have a Time Machine Backup.

Honestly, this issue would probably be best handled in person. Do you have an Apple Store near you?

I do and thanks for the suggestion. I am talking about a desktop iMac, not a laptop though and I don't want to have to carry it through our local mall if I can help it.
