Mail Client

I have gone into the Mail App into preferences and changed the default email reader to what I want. But when I try and send an email it still defaults to Mail. How do I change that? I DO NOT want to use MAIL APP

Need to know a couple of things:

1. What exact Mac OS are you using?

2. What exact Mac model do you have?

3. What is the other EMail client/program you are using?

This link seems like you have to do one more step after making that change in Apple's EMail program: re-boot your Mac. Also, make sure you make the setting in the EMail program you want to use for it to be the default one:

But when I try and send an email it still defaults to Mail.

Is it when you click a email link from the internet that Mail.app launches?
