I purchased a WD one TB external HD. I have formatted it from NT to the MAC. However, when I attempt to drag a desktop folder to it, it snaps back and a dialog box pops up that says: "The operation can’t be completed because an unexpected error occurred (error code -50)." Screenshot of the external HD I

formatted matted enclosed.

I have been at this for so long I hate to admit it. Oh, the EX HD came with the 661.9 MB on it already. That doesn't look right to me but this is the first time I've attempted to transfer info from the internal HD to the External.

Thank you for any help.
Edward.

Hello,

The 661.9 MB is normal...it's the formatting/partitioning.

If you go into Disk Utility and do a Get Info, is it also GUID Partition Map, or Master Boot Record/exFAT?
