MacBook Air Keyboard Issue

Does anyone know why what I’ve copied below is happening on a brand new MacBook Air?
Would appreciate any insight and/or solutions.

Strange indeed. ù requires a multiple key command: Option+~ then u.

-Which version of macOS?
-Did this just start happening, or has it happened since you got the MBA?
-Do you have an external keyboard you can try?

Thanks for your reply! It just started happening a few days after we got it. The computer has the latest Mac OS version installed. I do have an older external keyboard that I’m going to try. Thanks again. For your hel-!

Let us know how that goes.

Also, you could try creating another user, login to it, and see if the issue happens there.
