My Mac Pro 3,1 has 2 X 2.8gh Quad core processors, 'about this Mac' reports that there is 1 X 2.8ghz Quad core processor.
I have checked by hardware by taking out the processors one at a time and swapping processor slots. In any of those combinations 'about this Mac' correctly states 1 Quad core processor. However, if both processors are fitted, in either combination, it incorrectly reports 1 Quad core processor.
Not sure what the problem is, as hardware wise both processors and both slots appear to be working, just not together.
p.s.
Just tried an NVRAM reset and all is back to normal
