Wonder if you have an "Adware" issue. What you could try is to download, install, and run 2 freeware programs. The first one is ClamXav (you can get it from here: http://www.macupdate.com/app/mac/15850/clamxav). As you can see, that program can help with identifying any viruses you might have.
The other one is AdwareMedic. You can get it from here: http://www.macupdate.com/app/mac/52105/adwaremedic. That will help with identifying, and getting rid of, so-called "Adware".
There is also the possibility that a somewhat malicious program called MacKeeper was "installed" onto your machine. Here is a li k that explains how to COMPLETELY get rid of it:

This last one )MacKeeper) miight not apply, but it won't hurt to try the procedure anyway, as no harm will come if you don't have MacKeeper installed.
