hello all...

my iMac is constantly giving me the spinning pinwheel - i use adobe suite quite a bit - and i need parallels to deal with work issues (mainly MS-ACCESS)

would an upgrade of RAM help? or a SSD external drive for OS? or sell the thing and get something new?

The following information would be helpful:

1. Are you making backups to an external device?

2. How much free space is on the 1 TB drive? (I do see that it is a 7200 rpm drive).

3. Have you done any disk cleanup/maintenance/repairs?

4. Do you have either MacKeeper or CleanMyMac installed on the machine? If you do, get rid of them IMMEDIATELY. Both of them do more hard than good.

5. Do you have any anti-virus software installed?
