How do I disable the narrator (Voice Over?) so that it doesn't read aloud every keystroke? It seems to be enabled to run at login and I NEED to disable it. Please help!!

You can toggle Voiceover on and off with Command+F5

or turn it off with System Preferences > Accessibility > Voiceover

I tried both of those methods to no avail (no effect whatsoever, even when toggling on then off). When the problem first arose, I was testing out new headphones and I restarted my device and it seemed to solve the issue. Unfortunately, on my next restart and every startup since it seems to be included in a start-up script of some sort.

Try, System preferences > Users and Groups click on your account, select Login Items. This will show what items open at Log in. If you can identify the program causing the problem you can deactivate it.
