iTunes Uploading Albums

When I upload a compilation, is it possible to keep all the songs in one album (that is, create my own album, not just a playlist)? Right now, iTunes separates the songs into the albums from which they originally came.

Get Info and change the Album Field.
You can select them all and change them all at once.

I saw the section you referred to...but how do I upload the compilation and not have it automatically spread into the various albums the songs came from?

Do I have to treat each compilation separately -- that is, assemble the songs myself?

Yes, you have to fix it manually.

Either mark it as a Compilation or give all the songs the same Album Name.

Sometimes it will know, but if the songs are popular they will probably be marked as coming from its original album. Hows it to know???
