Issues with video clips

Hi, I wonder if anyone would be able to point me in the right direction? Over the last couple of days I've noticed I can't access video clips on places such as Facebook and other forums. I can access YouTube videos, but only if I'm on YouTube. If someone has linked to a YouTube clip, I can't access it. I just get a large blank area where the video is usually situated.

Any ideas ? Thanks

-What version of Mac OS X?
-What version of Adobe Flash?

I have seen this before when Flash is out of date, or the version of OS X/Safari is older.
