ipod classic won't go off

I can't see the icon for my ipod classic on the monitor so I couldn't eject it. After a while I just pulled it out of the computer and now the ipod reads "Connected:. Eject before disconnecting." But I can't get this message off the ipod and it is simply unresponsive. It won't turn off; it won't do anything.

Ok, fixed. I toggled the Hold switch, then held dlown the Menu and center select buttons at same time. All fixed. Thanks
