Imac12,2 removing hard drive with data

I have a 2011 model imac 12,2.
I did not backup my data on there, stupidity on my part, but now my imac is not starting up and I am wondering if I can just remove the hard-drive with all the data still in it safety without losing any data?

Yes, you could. As long sit's not a problem with the hard drive that's stopping your iMac from starting.
