Late 2013 iMac, OS Catalina
Can anyone tell what is going on here? I assume it is some program that isn't shutting down properly, but I have nothing open. When I try to shut down, most (but not all) times, after a long wait, I get a "Your computer was restarted because of a problem." message. After another long wait, the computer restarts and I get the following long message:

Hello and welcome.

That looks like a iMac (21.5-inch, Late 2013) running macOS 10.15.7 Catalina, correct?

Yes it could be a software issue. I do see Dropbox in the panic log - have you been running that for a while and is it up to date?

-How full is the drive?
-Any third-party apps like MacKeeper or antivirus installed?
-Have you tried disconnecting all external devices/peripherals except the keyboard and mouse?

You could try holding the Shift key when powering it on to startup in safe mode. Then shut down completely and then power on.

Thanks. Correct re: iMac and macOS.
Drive has 847.26 GB free. No antivirus or MacKeeper, but I do have SugarSync backup.
It looks life Dropbox is the problem. I turned off "Open at login" and after opening it, quit before shutting down and shut down without a problem.
I have been running it for several years and it is, as far as I can tell, up to date.
I'll wait another day or two before making this as solved, just to make sure.
Thanks again for your help

No worries...

I have seen the Dropbox application cause some issues, but not always.

Keep us posted and be well.

Oops - spoke too soon. The problem recurred yesterday with no sign of Dropbox. (I turned off Open at login and did not open it all day.) The "report" seemed shorter, but I didn't capture it. I'll continue to monitor.
