My macbook not shutting down and special thanks to one of the my buddies who shared the code that I can type in "Terminal" that shuts it down, its shutting down with that code...but IT REALLY KILLS ME that (sorry for the caps) I have to run "terminal" each time I have to shutdown my mac...any idea on how i can solve the problem?

My macbook (running Mountain Lion) not shutting down, or restarting from the apple menu...each time I have to shut it down, I have to open the terminal app. and type in: "sudo shutdown - h now"....then It will shutdown..what I really want is to just shut it down from the apple menu just like any macbook...any idea how?

Thanks !

Hello and welcome.

-Which model of Macbook do you have?
-When did this start occurring? After a software update?
-Have you tried repairing disk permission using Disk Utility?
-Have you tried resetting PRAM and/or SMC?

We'll try to help you get it fixed.
