I am having issues with an imac g3 dv

when I got the machine, It did not work. the day of writing this post, I got it "working" but it is making a strange whirring sound (the unit has no fans) and it is stuck at the apple logo, what can I do to fix this issue?

Is this a tray-loading optical disc model? If so, it does have a cooling fan inside. The whirring sound could also be an optical dic trying to spin up and mount.

It is a slot loading, but I took out the drive when I repaired the machine. When the machine was open, I did not see any fans.

Yeah, the slot loading iMacs of that version do not have fans.
