Html ? And Saving A Link To Desktop, please ?

Hi,

Very often, but not always, when I try to save a link to my desktop that
goes to a regular (normal text and images), that I have been looking at, it seems to save it
as html. All I have then are lines of blue text.

How can I save "normal" so the page I am trying to save the link to, when clicked on, actually
shows what I was originally looking at ?

Hi,

Here is some information from Apple: Save part or all of a webpage in Safari on Mac

If you save as a Web Archive, then it will save a complete copy of the web page that you can open in Safari without an Internet connection to view as if you were online.

I guess it would depend on when you are trying to save and how you want to access/view it.
