Hi, I have been trying to par off programs that I never use from my iMac.

and found that I cant delete Stocks. don't own any and never use it...

but I keep on getting messages and it sometimes pops up at inopportune moments.

anyone know how to bypass apples permissions to get rid of this.

Regards, Sandy

Hi,

Many of the "built-in" macOS applications cannot be deleted, since they are protected by the macOS security protocols, or used/supported by widgets, WebKit, etc.. The Stocks application is less than 5 MB in size, so it isn't impacting user free space since it resides in a read-only partition on your drive.

How is it popping up? You can always disable its notifications and make sure it is not set to launch at login in Login Items.

though this tought little #$%^ was never going to go. and you are right.

i just like to trim out the useless stuff that I will never use. and all the asian fonts also seem to be protected... stuff I will never use...

also Apple News...

thanks again.
