How do I adjust the filters for my Junk mailbox in Apple Mail, in OSX 10.11.6?

I often have mail duplicated in my JUNK mailbox which is a duplicate of the mail in the Inbox. I know there are rules one can set in mail preferences, but I can't find anything that allows me to change the preferences of the existing filters for my JUNK mail. Any assistance would be appreciated. Thanks!

Hello,

In Mail > Preferences... > Junk, there are several checkboxes that you can change for the behavior of the junk mail filtering:

In Mail > Preferences... > Rules, you can add/edit/delete Rules that will perform actions on mail:

Here is a nice tutorial: How to Set Up Apple Mail Rules

There may be some rules that are duplicating mails or actions in other rules.

Let us know of that helps,

Thank you. I've tried adjusting the rules in this panel already, but will try again, and let you know the results.
