I am using Adobe Bridge CS 6 on my MacBook with macOS High Sierra(10.13.4). When I try to open Bridge I get an error message which advises me to 'purge the central cache in Cache Preferences. I do not know how to do this and I am unable to find anything labeled 'Cache Preferences."

There are a couple of cache folders contained within the Mac OS. For ones that are application specific, it is located in Users > your User Name > Library > Caches, and then there are various folders there with the Application name on each.

Try the following:

In Adobe Bridge CS 6 menu, click Edit ~> Preferences, select the Cache tab, then click the Purge Cache button. This deletes all HQ preview and thumbnail jpegs stored in the cache folder, which will have to be rebuilt again (if you use HQ previews) over time.
