Recently my computer has started having problems loading certain websites (gmail, google maps, Apple support [hence the reason I'm bothering you guys]). It comes up with the error message "Safari can't open the page because the server where the page is located isn't responding". I used to be able to load these websites, and don't know what has changed.
I'm running Mac OS X 10.6.8 on a MacBook Pro. I'm connecting via a proxy, though others using the same connection aren't having problems. When I connect through a different network, I don't have any issues. I'm assuming it must be a problem with Safari itself, as my mail program can still access my gmail to get my emails.
I've emptied my cache and reset safari. I've also fiddled around with my proxy settings every way I can think of. I'm now running out of ideas.
Any help would be much appreciated. Thank you.
