I’m in the middle of upgrading my 2009 , have flashed to 5,1, have the x5690, have completed the Pixlas Mod and I’m getting ready to order a new video card. I have a Radeon 580 Black but I understand that it’s without the Mac EFI. I’ll be running a dual boot system so I’ll need a boot screen to see which OS to boot up depending on the task at hand. Can anyone suggest a hi-power card for video editing that’s metal-compatible and that won’t wipe out my ability to see the boot screen? My objective is to run a single x5690, 48G ram, on Mojave. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Personally, I don't recommend those types of hardware mods/hacks, as I have seen many folks have issues with stability and compatibility. As they are far beyond the scope of my experience, I don't have any viable suggestions.
Maybe someone else here will have some helpful suggestions, or you may have to find a forum that is geared more towards Apple mods, which could answer those type of questions.
