These scratches have started showing up on the edges of my screen a while ago, and as they started getting worse I thought it was the eco+ screen cleaner I got, so I stopped using it. However they are still appearing and are now starting to appear more within the actual display itself. What could be causing this? Am I putting too much pressure on the screen?

Hello.
It could still be the screen cleaner. It may have gotten inside the glass and is slowly damaging the coating. The best thing to do would be to take you Mac to an Apple Store nearby to have it checked out. It is difficult to discern without being able to see it first-hand. It is my feeling that it will continue to get worse.
