help get 11,500 photos off desktop

I have down loaded 11,500 photos on my desk top and this has slowed my mac pro down tremendously. How can I get these off of the desk top?

Select them and drag them into a Folder.

I gave up on the idea of doing this myself. I made an appointment on line and went to the Apple store. They were amazing. I had this fixed in 10 minutes at no charge. I love Apple.
