Can someone please help me with this.
I am unable to remove the partition labelled "free space" therefore causing me to have little space to work with.

Hello and welcome.

-Which version of OS X?
-Is there a reason the drive was partition in that way?

It may be because the Format type is showing as Unknown. Try using the erase command on just that partition, and make sure you use the same type as the main partition.

I'm using MacOS Sierra and I was trying to install windows onto my MacBook pro.
Something went wrong and Bootcamp thinks that I never partitioned so I am unable to do that

OK, thanks.

-Did you try to erase the partition as I mentioned previously?
-Have you tried running the Boot Camp Assistant and tried to Remove a Windows Partition? That may restore the disk to a full single partition.

I am unable to erase the partition as an error comes up.
I have tried running Boot Camp Assistant although it seems to show as if I never attempted it in the first place

Sorry for the delay in getting back to you...

-Do you have a current Time Machine or other backup?
-Are you able to simply drag the white ball up and to the left to increase the size of the Macintosh HD partition, then click Apply?
