What version of Google Chrome are you using? It must be a 64 bit version after macOS Monterey. Monterey was the last macOS to run 32 bit applications.

Google Chrome might not work well with macOS versions installed through OpenCore Legacy Patcher on your 2013 Mac Pro. Consider reinstalling Chrome or trying other browsers like Firefox or Brave, which could provide better compatibility on patched systems running newer macOS versions beyond Monterey.

Tried reinstalling the latest version but no work still. I think you're right about OCLP cause with my M2 mini everything is fine running chrome on the latest OS

Why are you using OCLP on an M2? I'm guessing you wanted to run an earlier macOS version. I'm not sure that's really a good idea. Personally I'd be inclined to erase and return it to a current macOS.

I'm not. I was saying that Chrome works fine on a mac with the latest OS that wasn't installed using OCLP

When you say that Chrom doesnt work on your old Mac using OCLP, what exactly doesnt work? Will the app launch, will pages load, what exactly is going on with chrome on your Mac?

i had ventura installed on an old 2013 Macbook Pro that had all sort of issues when some apps loaded. i used Onyx to disable sytem wide graphics such as zooming windows and other things i dont remember. but it let apps run smoothly afterwards.

Did anyone get a fix for the issue with Chrome freezing with red and white color bars on OCLP using Sonoma OS?

It not the macOS that's at fault it's the hardware. The Video card, GPU and CPU of a 2013 MBP are simply not up to the task of rendering the rather demanding graphics of the 64bit Chrome application. All that having Sonoma via OCLP allows you to do is instal it, otherwise you wouldn't even be able to download it in the first instance.

Hey all I found a solution Using script editor I created the following script

open -a /Applications/Google\\ Chrome.app --args --use-angle=glœ

Saved the script to my Dock and when I click it Chrome works as normal.

Thanks everyone

Gary
