Hi: - My iMac 2017 running High Sierra is much slower than it used to be-I have a feeling that main reason is that I have a mountain of plugins in Garageband- I have an external drive with a lot of room still left. What I would like to do if possible is transfer the plugins to my external drive . What is the easiest way to do that. Thanks for your help

Hello and welcome.

There isn't any way to move the plug-ins to an external drive and still use them with GarageBand that I know of, as they need to reside in Macintosh HD > Library > Audio > Plug-Ins for GarageBand to access them.
  • How much free space is left on your iMac?
  • What third-party plug-ins have you added?
