Game room trouble

Hi
I need help.
I bought a used macbook pro with osx 10.7.5 and after a while the weirdest thing is happening. When I play literati on yahoo games and i click on a screen name to see the person's rating the game table goes blank and I have to reconnect. Also, when I first enter the game through shove-it the room names appear in dark purple instead of the normal light blue. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
