PSE 12 Fonts are frozen in Caps. Cannot get anything except caps when typing

I am using a Mac and all my fonts are stuck in Caps. Using Mac OS X Software OS X 10.9.1 (13B42)
I do not have the caps lock on
When I contacted the PSE forum and Digital Scrapper Forum they recommended this might be a MAC problem

I tried resetting preferences and tools etc ~ Did not work

I tried resetting the tool bar

I shut down and restarted the computer

I went into General and went to default all Did not work

This is happening in my PSE 11 on Mac also

I re installed PSE 12 and PSE 11 on my I Mac. Still did not resolve the problem

I saw this problem in the forum on DS and in forum on PSE magazine

one forum said it was due to a freebie download but I tried pages from DS and same problem. It happened after I downloaded a freebie Template from a good site.

I checked for virus and malware on my MAC. ~NONE
The work around is:
Type text in Word or Pages/ Fonts are fine in ALL other programs. Get Caps and lower case letters.
Copy and paste into a transparent file at PSE and then drag to the page you are working on. It creates a vector but you can move the text around and resize it.

You cannot drag out the T tool and paste it in because it goes to all Caps
On my lap top which is a Mac Air I do NOT have the problem.
I am hoping someone can help me.

Thank You

Then it must be a PSE 12 problem, how could it be a Mac problem? PSE does not use the standard input methods and there must be a bug in it. Start by deleting the PSE Preference plists.

Fixed the problem. Updated PSE files. Then went back in to program and again reset the Text tool and it took. Problem resolved
