I have a 2010 mac pro and I'm trying to buy a firewire to hdmi cable or adapter...it's really confusing...but maybe I don't need the adapter...I'm trying to connect the mac pro to my smart tv...so I can watch stuff on my computer as displayed on the tv....

anyway...I can't tell from the systems info whether the firewire on this unit is 4 pin, six pin, 9 pin...400 or 800....

this is all the info I can get from the computer....

any help would be appreciated....

Hello and welcome.

Unfortunately, that will not work. FireWire does not carry streaming video signals. You would need a Mini DisplayPort to HDMI adapter/cable to connect your Mac Pro to an HDMI port on your TV.

Connect to HDMI from your Mac
