I have a Mac OS X 2.4 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo 10.5.8 (Leopard)

When I first connected up the "NEW" Freecom XS 1.5TB drive my computer asked me if I wanted to use "Time Machine"? I said YES and the files started backing up.

Everything went fine until the XS had copied about 280Gb of a total of 290Gb that was on my HDD; my system then completely "shut down". When I restarted my computer there was an error message saying backup failed (that's all it said).

I have since tried many things including erasing the XS drive, reformatting it - trying Mac OS Extended (journaled) & FAT32, but have had little success; I can only get so far before getting some sort of error message and/or "backup or copy failed".

Many, many times I have tried to contact Freecom though emails & phone but there never seems to be anyone home!!!

Please, any assistance you can offer will be greatly appreciated.

Basically what I would like to be able to do is keep most of my Music and Video files and some of my document and email files on the "Freecom XS" so that I can free up space on my computers HDD for general day to day work.

Kind Regards,
Jack
