External Mic Question

Hi,

My iMac desktop, apparently, has a built in mic.

That is what comes up when I go to "Sound" in Settings.

It's the only option under "Input".

If I want to use an external mic, e.g., how do I tell it to use
that, instead of the built in one ?

And, where would I plug it in; the Ports don't seem to be labeled.

If your iMac doesn’t have a mic input port then you would need to either use a USB mic, or get a USB to mic adaptor. Once you plug in a mic it will show up in the sound input area. you just would select it then.
