Equals sign won't type

Hi all, sorry if easy question.
Can't use excel for mac on my mac, because when I press the equals key nothing happens! In the shift mode, the plus sign does appear and work as a plus function in excel, but 'equals' does not. Please help. Nothing appears, not even a space. Thanks.

Have you tried using the equal sign found in the numeric keypad section of your keyboard, if you have an extended keyboard, that is?

Thanks, no extended keyboard unfortunately. Not a bug that's common then I guess ?

Hi,

If you use the key normally without shift does it give you the = sign? If nothing then I would think about making an appointment with the GB at your nearest Apple store.

Or is this just an issue with Excel?
