While checking on another situation, I went to system preferences, then users and groups, and then to login items. I find two items are duplicated (Firefox and Flux). Should they show up duplicated? Should I delete one of each, and how do I choose which to delete so I continue to get the items desired to load when signing on? I don't appear to be having any real problems (read that too many items could slow down my computer), but if improvement could be served with updating these items, I am all for making the "fix".

Hello,
No, there isn't a benefit for them to be duplicated, as they will only load one instance anyway. You can remove any and all Login Items as you see fit. Deleting either entry should be fine.
