SOLVED Downloaded Tiff Files from Library cant open them.

Hi all,

I was browsing Australians National Library, and downloaded some early Realestate Posters in Tiff Format, but the Icons are Generic and theyr only open in Texedit and say they are tiff, but Photoshop wont open them.

what will Convert them to Tiff.? (M1 iMac sequoia.)

That looks like an .xml file.
The Delivery Manager Servlet- is probably a reference to a Java Servlet for managing document delivery.

As I understand it the DeliveryManagerServlet is a java servlet for displaying the .tiff image in a browser, and therefore isn't a .tiff file itself.

so how do i convert it or load it into photoshop.? or is that out of the question.? regards, Sandy

I don't think it would be an easy task, the item you have downloaded is not the image file but a means of displaying the image in a browser. You really need to download the image file.

OK. thanks. did not know that. there seems to be the full ascii fil as it is many megs. so the archives have been cunning in only letting me download a 'view only file' and not a editable image... wow. thanks fo the information, appeciate the help.
