Deleted emails

After I started using my Samsung smart phone to check emails, I noticed a buildup of "Deleted emails". I can delete them from the phone one by one, but at the present time the phone shows over 11,000 messages stored. Someone told me I could go to the server on my MacBook and delete them from the mail program there. I can find no menu option that would allow me to delete old emails and thus erase them from my phone list. Any suggestions?

Hi and welcome,

Someone told me I could go to the server on my MacBook and delete them from the mail program there.

Depends on how you have this account set up within Mac Mail re mailbox behaviours > Junk and deleted mail. Here is a screen shot example. If server mail deletion has taken place then you will just have to go through the phone route.
