Delete NETBIOS

Is there anyway I can delete NETBIOS?

In Network Preferences, under the WINS tab
NetBIOS name: (name of my computer)

I heard that people can access all your files and info and email etc

Is there any way to disable or delete NETBIOS?

Why Do I need it?

Preferably without using terminal, as it doesn't work properly if possible.

If Sharing > File Sharing > Options > Share files and folders using SMB (Windows) is unchecked than those NETBIOS settings are just place holders and not active.

System Preference > Sharing

was not an option when I went into sharing, that is why I queried it

Not sure what version of OS X you are using, it did move around its currently under the Options... button.

But if File Sharing is off then no need to worry.
