There is an app I used for the longest time before I upgraded to Monterey
called "Volume-Scroll.dmg" that allowed you to just mouse up to the
Apple menu bar and then just scroll up/down to adjust the volume
of what you're listening to. So simple, no extra clicking on the Sound
icon etc.

It worked like a charm.

But it doesn't work in Monterey :-(((

Anyone got an alternative that does the same thing?

Thanks!

Is the additional click on the menu bar icon too much work? In Systems Preferences -> Sound, if you activate “Show Sound in menu bar,” one click on the sound icon pulls down the window with a scroll bar to easily change sound volume. In my screenshot, the sound icon shows external headphones because it’s my sound output (to Beats Pill speakers).

(You may notice that I have Bluetooth disabled, but that’s for another discussion altogether.)

"Is the additional click on the menu bar icon too much work?"
Yes, it is, especially in light of what I described i.e., that I HAD
an app that did EXACTLY what I described, had it for years,
and came to this forum seeking help to find something that
would work in the latest version of the OS.
Yes, I have the sound icon in the Apple menu bar.

Your question is insulting.

Sorry, but that was not the intent. I don’t use the menu bar scroll bar either, just the F-keys.
