Cant get chirp to run

Im running Mac Os 10.12.6 Sierra and cannot get CHIRP to run I downloaded python runtime as suggested on chirp download page but when I open chirp the icon bounces 9 time and disappears after telling me it cannot find an application to run it...

I am not familiar with this software, but a quick search showed that a few people had the same problem. LINK to their solution
