Hi Everyone!
I've got a Mac Mini 10.4.11.
Canon's website says the CanoScan LiDE 30 will work on it, has driver.
So I bought it from someone. It works fine on my laptop (windows 7), installed right away.
It won't install on my Mac. It came with the install CD, and I tried the Canon download, and I tried VueScan, all for nothing so far.
What can I do?

Hi,

Sorry but I have only heard negative things about trying to get the CanoScan LiDE 30 working well on any Mac.

Somebody else told me he had the same setup and it worked fine.
When I try to use the install CD it tells me there's no OSX 9 to be found on the disc.
When I try to install ScanSoft OmniScan from the disc I get Error (-61).

When I try to install ScanSoft OmniScan from the disc I get Error (-61).

Try this go to system preference >security and check the last option re software from anywhere then try installing the ScanSoft OmniScan from the disc again.

oldscribe,

Unfortunately, that won't help. That setting (Gatekeeper) is only for Mac OS X Lion 10.7.5 and later. ;)

Hi CC,

I`m sure I have seen error 61 documented as a write permissions error somewhere.

Thanx, Everyone for trying!
The local mac tech told me to use TWAIN, but it tells me I have to install 'libusb' and 'backends' first, but doesn't say how to. When I googled it up, all I got was 'library for usb printers' or something like that but still no links or how-to info.
Can anyone please explain to me how to download the 'libusb' and 'backends'?
Then maybe TWAIN will work.

OK Everyone, thanks for trying!
I've managed to install the toolbox, but when I click Scan1, it says Plug-in not found.
So I go to plug-ins, select the Canoscan one, click choose, but nothing changes.
This is the farthest I've ever gotten.
Scanner works with trial version of Vuescan.
Any advice?
