Cannot load X-plane 11 since updating to Catalina

After updating found I had lost my X-plane files. I know I should have backed up!
Have tried several methods and the best I can get is via demo download without scenery and then the disc 1 is not recognised in order to load scenery.
I then bought the latest version of X-plane thinking maybe this would be recognised no change.
For whatever reason the discs are not recognised after loading the installation programme.
I do not have product key because I bought the dvd set. I am in contact with X-plane help

Hello and welcome.

I would contact X-Plane directly as you have, as their website doesn't state Catalina compatibility - it only shows through Mojave. I haven't ever used the X-Plane software, so I don't have much more to offer as far as support. I am sure they will get back to you shortly.

Not solved yet. They did give me a Product key which did not do the trick, it just seems as though Catalina does not recognise the dvds
But because I wanted to run X-plane and Microsoft Flight sim I used bootcamp to get 500Gb
Have loaded Flight Sim and flown to Las Vegas but find that the programme mysteriously disappeared after that!
Interesting times which I find frustrating because of my limited knowledge, but keep on learning I hope!
