My iMac has had a windows portion for years. Only in the last few months has it begun freezing on start up. It has now gotten to the point where it freezes on both the mac side loading page and the windows. I have tried starting it in safe mode but because it automatically logs into the windows side it doesn't work work. I literally can't get into either part of my computer! Any suggestions would be great.

-Which version of OS X?
-Is Windows installed via a Boot Camp partition?
-How much free hard drive space on both partitions?
-Have you had any previous slowness or random hanging before this issue?
It sounds like it could be a failing hard drive.
