Automator not saving workflow because of permissions

'when I try to save my workflow, I get a messaging saying I do not have permission to save it, that i should find the item in Finder, and choose File-Get Info. What item? The item is not in finder because i can't save it.

The item might be the location or folder you are saving the workflow to.

So try this, go to the folder where you are trying to save the workflow and bring up the "Get Info" window by highlighting it and choosing File from the menubar at the top of the screen, then 'Get Info' (⌘ I).

Look at the bottom of the Get Info window where it says "Sharing & Permissions" and make sure you have 'read & write' permissions for the folder.

Better yet, choose a better place to save it to, one where you do have permission to save to, like the Desktop...
