Hi all. If i have movies on my mac, and view thru Apple TV via Beamer, does this use up download of my ISP? I know I have to have my modem on to use this setup. I am hoping it doesn't use up my download as i live remote and GB are very expensive! No special deals out here. thanks in advance.

Hello and welcome.

If your modem has a built-in Wi-Fi router, it has to be on to create your local wireless network. It won't count towards your ISP bandwidth, because it isn't streaming over the Internet, just over your local network. I am not familiar with Beamer, but what I read on their website is it is similar to and uses Apple AirPlay to stream from the Mac to the Apple TV.

Hope that helps.
