I have inadvertently deleted the icon for my website , but I still have the alias but I cant open it because it cant find the original . However, I believe the alias contains all the information of the original ? The reason because I can still up load the alias and I get the indications from the server that it is uploading, but of course I cannot make corrections to it . Is there anyway that that I can open the alias and make it editable so that I can replace the orgininal ?

Can you give us a little more information?
-What kind of icon did you delete - a webloc file, a file from a web design app, etc.?
-If you do Get Info on the alias (shortcut) then click Find Original, what happens?
-How are you uploading the alias to the server - via an FTP app?
