After backup and resore, Itunes will not work!

I backed up the files I wanted and restored my macbook pro. I first put my files back on the mac then updated, and now itunes will not work because it requires a newer version of quicktime, but I cannot update quicktime because it thinks it has been updated to the newer version even tho it is only quicktime 7.5.1...

Its contradicting itself!! when i search for software updates it says everything is up to date.. what do i do?

I tried to install 7.7 but it still says a newer version is on. I tried to use pacifist with no avail..

check on here for the correct download and install it.

Doesn't seem to work that easy.. I tried that already. just wont update. everything is up to date

Re-downloading/installing the last Combo Update for your particular Operating System Version might solve this issue.
