Adobe Photoshop problem...

I have a mac 10.9. I recently added Adobe Photoshop Elements 10.

It runs really slowly. Every action I ask it to do it has to ponder over for way too much time.

Example: If I click on the text icon it responds after about 10 seconds!

Is there anything I can do to improve this poor performance?

My guess is that because it is an older version, and it's officially supported through Mac OS X 10.7 Lion, it isn't totally compatible with Mac OS X 10.9 Mavericks. This does happen, especially when upgrading to a much newer OS. There isn't anything you can do to improve performance of that version.

The current version is Adobe Photoshop Elements 12, which is compatible with Mavericks, as is PSE 11. I would suggest upgrading if you can.
