Admin User

I have been unable to install software or add or delete users.I have 2 users but neither one has Administration capabilities.How do I give Admin status to a user

If you have Admin status, you can modify those users' accounts in System Preferences > Accounts.

Is it possible that I did not assign an Administrator on the initial startup. If that is the case what can I do about it now ?

create a new account with admin status, then use that to give your original two accounts admin status.

However I don't think I can create a New Account unless I am the Administrator. Catch 22 I guess. If I can create a New account please advise how.
