Admin User

I have been unable to install software or add or delete users.I have 2 users but neither one has Administration capabilities.How do I give Admin status to a user

If you have Admin status, you can modify those users' accounts in System Preferences > Accounts.

Unfortunately neither User Accout has Admin. capabilities.
That seems to be the problem

Is it possible that I did not assign an Administrator on the initial startup. If that is the case what can I do about it now ?

create a new account with admin status, then use that to give your original two accounts admin status.

However I don't think I can create a New Account unless I am the Administrator. Catch 22 I guess. If I can create a New account please advise how.

Hmmmm... are you on Leopard by any chance?

This should sort it, and even if you are not on Leopard, logging in as root should allow you to do it:

EDIT: You MUST disable root when you have finished because this is a potential security risk otherwise!
